2000 was the 50th Anniversary of the founding of Crowthorne Musical Players. The
society was originally formed prior to the second world war and called itself the
St. John's Parish Singers. Disbanded during the war, it was restarted in
1950 as CMP.
In November 2000, a special Autumn Concert was held to celebrate the 50th
Anniversary. The theme of the 2000 concert was The First 50 Years and
featured songs from shows that have been performed during that time.
The concert was a great success, especially the Gala Night where we current and
past members got together. Some of the past members also performed songs that
they had sung in previous CMP shows.
